Volunteer Opportunities for Toastmasters in New Jersey

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Toastmasters who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. Several upcoming Youth Leadership and Gavel Club programs need volunteers who are ready to inspire, mentor, and lead.

Youth Leadership Program – Northern New Jersey

CoCoordinator Needed

  • Start: Mid-to-late January 2026
  • Participants: 12–16 students from Parsippany, Morris Plains, Denville, and Randolph
  • Schedule: Fridays, 6:30–8:00 PM
  • Duration: 8 weeks + final awards celebration
  • Location: Reserved venue in Parsippany

This program helps students build confidence, communication skills, and leadership abilities in a supportive Toastmasters-style environment.

Gavel Club – Morris County Juvenile Detention Center (Morristown, NJ)

Volunteer Participants Needed

  • Start: Late February 2026
  • Schedule: Tuesdays, 6:30–8:30 PM
  • Format: 4week pilot program, with potential extension

This is a unique opportunity to bring communication and leadership training to youth who benefit deeply from positive role models and structured skill-building.

  • East Jersey State Prison Spanish Gavel Club Rahway, NJ — Every other Wednesday, 5:30–8:00 PM ET (Established April 2025)
  • New Jersey State Prison Gavel Club Trenton, NJ — 2nd & 4th Tuesday, 5:00–7:00 PM ET (Club founded 38 years ago)
